A Cambridge-based firm renowned for its high-end residential architectural and interior design services and a commitment to excellence and innovation. We seek a Residential Interior Designer who is passionate about design and adept at turning ideas into reality. JOB DESCRIPTION

We're looking for team players who are self-motivated and ready to develop their skills through experience with our firm. We're seeking an experienced Interior Designer who is passionate about residential design, has strong organizational and presentation skills, and eager to work in a creative environment, we'd love to meet you. While we seek candidates with certain skills, we don't want to overlook a great fit who may be growing in their career.

  • PT ( Ideally 5 hours/day, M-F) with potential to grow to FT

  • Wage: Base $35/hr plus, commensurate with experience

  • Location: Flexible, can be On-premises / Hybrid /

  • Remote BUT MUST live locally for site visits

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate closely with the owner/lead project manager, clients, architects, and building designers from the design stage to project completion.

  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients and vendors managing approximately 6-8 ongoing projects simultaneously.

  • Conduct site visits, and create proposals to meet client needs and expectations.

  • Produce furniture layout for architectural plans.

  • Coordinate and supervise project implementation from procurement to installation, ensuring quality and compliance.

  • Utilize Quickbooks online for estimates and POs.

  • Manage day-to-day production on specific projects to meet deadlines, coordinating with management, clients, consultants, and contractors. (Or be able to learn and develop this skill set)

  • Handle design-related categories such as selecting and specifying furniture, fabrics, flooring, carpet, and paint, and developing lighting plans and fixture selections.

  • Develop and visualize design concepts including kitchen design and specifications that reflect the client's vision, style, brand, and functional requirements.

  • Research products and maintain positive relationships with vendors; contract out services to other vendors as needed.

  • Maintain and develop resources for our in-house design library.

  • Oversee project completion and evaluation, ensuring client satisfaction and identifying lessons learned and best practices for future projects.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited university with 1-2 years experience is a plus.

  • OR work experience of 3-5 years in residential design.

  • AutoCAD skills a plus

  • Exceptional presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to independently manage projects and work schedules.

  • Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines.

  • detail-oriented, and self-sufficient.

  • High level of competency in budgeting, scheduling, and project management.

  • Experience in finishes, fabrics, furnishings selection

  • Experience with QuickBooks online for estimates and P.O.s.

  • Ability to cultivate and maintain lasting client relationships.

  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation preferred for job site visits.
