We are seeking a well-rounded Project Manager who is passionate about developing a novel design, documenting it to be understood by others and seeing it through in the field. Our ideal candidate will bring a fresh perspective to complement our team. They should be a positive and team-oriented leader that prioritizes calm problem-solving, empathy and effective communication. They will constantly seek opportunities to work smarter and improve our workflow. The successful candidate will join a team of longstanding Project Managers in driving the studio forward through an established project management workflow.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead interior architecture and major renovation projects in some of the following sectors: multifamily residential, commercial office, academic and hospitality
Plan and guide the work of our design team and consultants
Work with a team of Project Managers to balance office-wide workloads and schedules
Collaboratively iterate design concepts with the project team, including coordinating architectural design with structural and MEP-FP systems
Thoughtfully tailor these design concepts to the project constraints to balance design impact, cost, schedule and constructability
Communicate clearly and respectfully with clients and the project team to build trust throughout the design and construction process
Thoroughly develop and review the work of our consultants for coherence with the overall design intent and coordinate this work in the architectural design
Lead the architectural construction administration process to ensure design intent translates into the built environment
Engage in a culture of 360 degree mentorship of peers, firm leaders and emerging professionals
REQUIREMENTS
At least seven years of relevant experience, with one year in a leadership position
Strong time management, project planning, design and technical experience in every phase from design through construction
Project management experience and the ability to manage up, down, and sideways within the firm as well as with consultants, clients and contractors
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Comfort working in a dynamic studio with a range of creative and challenging projects
Rigorous approach to delivering high quality work
Empathy for clients, consultants, general contractors and other project partners
Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and MS Office
Professional degree in architecture or interior design is required
Professional accreditation (AIA or IIDA) is preferred but not required
