Last fall Laura worked on designing a new office space for an A&D Firm in Dallas, TX. In this project, she designed a variety of work and meeting spaces to allow employees to choose their work mode. Additionally, a mezzanine level and communicating stair were necessary to provide more space in the office. The Trinity River, a natural Texas landmark, was the basis of the design. Beautiful work, Laura!
Q: When did you first realize you wanted to be an interior designer?
A: Throughout my life, I have always had a passion for art design, and would spend my free time creating. I knew I wanted to pursue art and design after high school, and when looking for things to study I found interior design. It combined all my interests, and I knew it was what I wanted to do with my life.
Q: Favorite IIDA NE event/memory?
A: The Fashion Show, I’ve had the opportunity to participate and attend the past two years as part of Suffolk’s team. It was so much fun getting to see and celebrate everyone’s hard work.
Q: What’s something in your life that you gain inspiration from?
A: I draw a lot of inspiration from nature. Not only do I think our environment brings us a lot of joy and peace, but the intricacies and forms of nature is so beautiful too.
