During Jillian’s hospitality studio, she was tasked with creating a culinary institute and restaurant inspired by a famous chef. She chose chef Anne Burrell and chose fire as her concept. Jillian wanted the space to feel moody and warm, taking inspiration from the colors of fire and the movement of the flames.
Q: Why did you choose to pursue interior design in college?
A: I have always been interested in architecture and how buildings are constructed. I realized what my strengths and weaknesses were in high school and knew that majoring in interior architecture would be the perfect choice for me.
Q: What are you most looking forward to in this upcoming year?
A: I am most looking forward to graduating, as well as continuing my education by pursuing my MBA with a concentration in construction management.
Q: Why did you want to be a member of IIDA NE?
A: I think IIDA is a great way to build connections with people, and I love supporting the industry.
Q: If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?
A: I would love to spend a day snowboarding at a mountain I’ve never been to before.
