JOB DESCRIPTION

Seeking an organized, creative, positive, and friendly individual to join Lisa Tharp Design, a luxury interior design firm located on Newbury Street, Boston. Our work includes city, country and coastal projects in Boston, New England and beyond, and can be seen in national magazines, television and books. We also model best design practices in the areas of sustainability and well-being of people and planet.

Duration: 3 months with potential for longer

RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative

  • File and maintain sample/material organization

  • Upkeep and replenish studio supplies

  • Maintain and update addresses and contacts

  • Apply for trade accounts

  • Digital file organization (project + non-project)

  • Scheduling principal’s calendar

  • Organize/prep for team gatherings + events

    Design Assistant in Training

Design Assistant in Training

  • Pricing + stock requests, product inquiries

  • Sample returns, requests, tracking

  • Scheduling vendor/rep visits in studio

  • Arrange couriers and shipping

  • Track activities in team meetings

  • Assist with drawings and presentation boards

  • Assist with uncomplicated specifications

  • Assist with install logistics and backup support for photoshoots

  • Assist with punch list templates and tasks

  • Experience in the interior design industry or related field.

  • Proficiency in design management software, such as Studio Webware

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong time management skills.

  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Google Drive.

  • Creative thinker with excellent attention to detail

  • Goal-oriented self-starter. Anticipates problems and develops solutions.

  • Adaptable to changing priorities. Reliable follow-through.

  • Clear, concise oral and written communicator.

  • A quick study of new systems, software, and protocols.

  • Confidence to ask for help, clarifying questions.

  • Professional maturity, personal stability, integrity.

  • Non-smokers only, please.

This position reports to the Junior Designer.

COMPENSATION

Commensurate with skills and experience.
