TIMELINE

We will have TWO opportunities to be considered! The first is through a self application process (lasting approximately two weeks) and the second is through a peer nomination process (lasting approximately one week).

- Wednesday, February 14: Self applications will open
- Thursday, February 29, 5pm: Self applications will close
- Monday, March 4: Peer nominations will open
- Tuesday, March 12, 5pm: Peer nominations will close

PROCESS

After reviewing the descriptions for the open positions for the New England Chapter Board, please complete the New England Chapter Board position application or nomination (link below).  All applicants/nominations are reviewed by the Nominating Committee. By applying/nominating a peer, the candidate’s name and a brief involvement and employment history will be included on the 2024-2025 Ballot and voted upon by the New England Chapter Professional & Associate membership. Board positions will transition on July 1, 2024. - Must be a current Professional, Associate or Industry member of the IIDA or be able to join by June 1, 2024.

- President-Elect: Professional member required (with NCIDQ certification or 15-years professional experience as an interior designer)
- VP of Communications: None
- VP of Professional Development: Professional member preferred but not required
- VP of Sponsorship: None
- VP of Student Engagement: None
- Desire to act as steward of IIDA and promote the profession of interior design
- Support from your employer

POSITIONS SEEKING NOMINATIONS

The following positions will be open for Nominations. Click on each to learn more about the term and read the position description.

  • In order to serve as an Officer, candidates must be Professional members of IIDA. This position is one-year from July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025, with automatic succession to President the following year, and then automatic succession to Immediate Past President.

    In the absence of the President or in the event of his/her inability or refusal to act, the President-Elect shall perform the duties of the President, and when so acting shall have all of the powers of and be subject to all the restrictions upon the President. At the expiration or termination for any reason of the President’s term of office, the President-Elect automatically shall succeed to the office of President, subject to the provisions of Article VIII, Section 4 of these Bylaws.

    The President-Elect shall serve as the treasurer of the Chapter and as custodian of all monies, securities and deeds belonging to the Chapter; shall hold, invest and disburse same subject to the direction of the Board of Directors; shall cause to be performed a periodic independent audit of the Chapter’s financial affairs; and in general, shall perform all duties incident to the office of treasurer of the Chapter. The duties of the Treasurer may be assigned, in whole or in part, to another Board Officer.

    The President-Elect also shall manage the affairs of the Chapter with regard to resource development, oversee the activities of the Nominating Committee and perform such other duties as from time to time may be assigned by the President or the Board of Directors. These duties shall include recommendation ad supervision of appropriate committees to formulate programs and recommend policies relating to those issues.

    The President-Elect is also a member of the Executive Committee, made up of the President, President-Elect and Immediate Past President. Serving on the Executive Committee requires the flexibility to allow for approximately 4 hours a week of IIDA NE work, during regular business hours. Shall sit on the IIDA NE Board of Directors to represent the city center's perspective and identify ways for the city center to contribute to the overall mission of IIDA NE.

  • This position is a two year term, serving from July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2026. A second, two year term is allowed if the individual is eligible, nominated and approved.

    The Vice President of Communications shall be responsible for promotion of the Chapter and the interior design industry, official publications of the Chapter, oversight of the Chapter website and social media, juried professional competitions and related award events, social activities, and special events, and honors and awards programs of the Chapter. The Vice President of Communications shall see that all notices are duly given in accordance with the provisions of these Bylaws or as required by law; and publish the Chapter’s annual report of programs and activities.

    The Vice President of Communications shall also serve as the secretary of the Chapter, providing oversight of the recording and publication of the official minutes of all Chapter Board of Directors’ meetings. Chapter Board minutes, Bylaws, and Articles of Incorporation are legal documents and must be securely maintained and stored indefinitely in either electronic or hard copy format. The Vice President of Communications shall perform such other duties as from time to time may be assigned by the President or Chapter Board of Directors.

  • This position is a two year term, serving from July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2026. A second, two year term is allowed if the individual is eligible, nominated and approved.

    The Vice President of Professional Development shall be responsible for development of Member professional education programs and conferences for the Chapter. These duties shall include recommendation and supervision of appropriate committees to formulate programs and recommend policies relating to those issues. The Vice President of Professional Development shall perform such other duties as from time to time may be assigned by the President or Chapter Board of Directors.

  • This position is a two year term, serving from July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2026. A second, two year term is allowed if the individual is eligible, nominated and approved.

    The Vice President of Sponsorship shall be responsible for creating and distributing sponsorship materials and communication. The Vice President of Sponsorship will track and report on all sponsor and potential sponsor names, contact information, and donation allocations. It is recommended that the VP of Sponsorship is closely involved with special event committees to ensure sponsorship deliverables are successfully executed. The Vice President of Sponsorship shall perform such other duties as from time to time may be assigned by the President or Chapter Board of Directors.

  • This position is a two year term, serving from July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2026. A second, two year term is allowed if the individual is eligible, nominated and approved.

    The Vice President of Student Engagement shall be responsible for the development, engagement, and advocacy of student membership within the chapter. These duties shall include developing and overseeing student benefit programs such as mentoring, guest lectures, and workshops. They shall act as liaison between campus centers and the Chapter Board of Directors. The Vice President of Student Engagement shall be responsible for communicating student activities to Chapter Board of Directors and membership-at-large. The Vice President of Student Engagement shall perform such other duties as from time to time may be assigned by the President or Chapter Board of Directors.
