JOB DESCRIPTION
GMA Design Group is a full-service design/build firm, partnered with the ARCO Family of Companies. Our team provides services including Creative Design, Project Management, ADA/Code Compliance, Building Assessment and Reuse, Addition and Renovations, Historic Preservation, Master Planning, Interior Design, Space Planning, Structural Analysis and Design, and Construction Administration.
We are looking for a highly motivated Interior Designer to join our team of experts onsite in Framingham, Massachusetts. RESPONSIBILITIES
Space planning to enhance function, safety, and aesthetics of interior
Generate interior architectural floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations and details for both permit and construction document
Incorporate corresponding material specifications and schedules related to architectural documents for use in bidding and final specifications
Assist in updating material library and meet with product manufacturer’s representatives
Collaborate with team members to prepare presentation materials as required, including but not limited to colored plans, colored elevations, 3D renderings, digital and physical finish palettes
Coordinate with construction project managers, architects, and other design disciplines as necessary through all phases of the project
Advise client on interior design factors such as space planning, layout, and utilization of furnishings or equipment, and color coordination
Field measurement of existing buildings and tenant spaces for documentation
Review of product submittals related to interior finishes
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from an accredited university
3-8 years’ relevant commercial interior design experience with a corresponding portfolio demonstrating various phases of project work (Programming, Schematic, Design Development, CD’s and finished project photos, if applicable)
Ability to develop preliminary drawings into construction documents in Revit and AutoCAD required
3D modeling & visualization experience in Revit, Enscape, Lumion, SketchUp and/or other modeling software
Graphic and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas
A general understanding of overall project budget and finish material costs
