Emily Devine

Concentration:
B.S. Interior Design

College/University:
Wentworth Institute of Technology

Emily was recently tasked with designing a mixed-use development for a commercial building in Boston (88 Broad St) that’s holding several vacancies. Emily’s concept was to combat building vacancies by placing private spaces for the residents living in the upper floors and public businesses inspired by holistic health practices on the bottom floors. On all floors there is a commitment to providing support to physical and mental health needs.

Q: Why did you choose to pursue interior design in college?
A: I was fortunate enough to attend a Vocational High School and specialized in Painting and Design. During my four years, I had the ability to explore CAD/Adobe programs which allowed me to put my years of studying Sims 3 / Sims 4 builds to use!

Q: Favorite IIDA NE event/memory?
A: I’ll say my first IIDA event is my favorite so far, it was the Design Your Path event last fall. I learned a lot that day and made great personal and professional connections.

Q: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A: Spicy Miso Ramen from Pikaichi in Medford, MA.
