JOB DESCRIPTION

Interior Architecture

  • Work with Project Manager and Principal to develop design concepts and documentation (construction document sets, custom furniture shops, etc.)

  • Maintain interiors drawing sets including furniture and lighting plans, elevations, tile and stone layouts, and millwork details. Confirm consistency of design intent.

  • Responsible for compiling and maintaining comprehensive FF&E specifications for lighting, millwork (finish and paint), plumbing, stone and tile, and hardware schedules. Includes execution of orders with workrooms, vendors, and subcontractors.

  • Ability to communicate with trade partners related to drawings and comprehensive specification information to ensure proper execution of design concepts in the field.

  • Efficient communication skills and willingness to learn and contribute to our collaborative design environment.

  • Monitor project progress via on site visits, project meetings etc.

  • Perform accurate existing measurements documentation of homes/spaces

Furnishings

  • Log FF&E specifications accurately into Studio, coordinate changes in construction drawings, manage orders, samples, and cuttings.

  • Assist Lead Interior Designer in assembling storyboards and client meeting finish boards, attend client meetings, active listening and thorough note taking

  • Meet with product vendors to learn about new products and keep office library up to date

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4 year Undergraduate Degree or Master’s in Interior Design or Architecture

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years (post grad) professional working experience with residential interior design or architecture firm.

  • Advanced skills in Revit, Adobe and Studio Designer

  • Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with both team members, builders/sub-contractors, and high-end clients

  • High-end construction experience

  • Read and update red-lined drawing sets with drafting team

  • Takes initiative to anticipate upcoming project and team needs, highly detailed and goal-oriented with the ability to work on multiple projects

  • Thorough and high consideration for file organization, sequence of design/construction, and drawing coordination

  • Understanding for phases of design and construction

  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed
