Massachusetts has two thriving professional interior design organizations that are passionate about serving their members and the industry — the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). Together, they form a partnership that is unique to the Commonwealth.
The Massachusetts Advocacy Council of IIDA and ASID
This joint committee is the first of its kind nation wide. It represents an exciting opportunity to collectively promote advocacy and strengthen the voice of our profession.
Operating under both Chapters, llDA NE and ASID NE, the Massachusetts Advocacy Council works to facilitate a shared mission of advancement for existing legislation in the Commonwealth and to advocate for the continued advancement of the lnterior Design profession.
July 18, 2017 House Bill 2826 and Senate Bill 132, an Act “relative to the advancing the profession of interior design,” will be presented to the Joint Committee on Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure.

November 21, 2014 House Bill 4303, an Act “recognizing the profession of interior designers to bid on state contracts”, was signed into law by Governor Patrick.
