Required Qualifications:

Pelli Clarke Pelli is seeking a creative Interior Designer to lead its existing interior design practice in New Haven CT.

The firm has a long history of significant architectural projects, working with corporate, government, and private clients. The firm's projects have extensive interior design components, ranging from public spaces in mixed-use towers to the interiors of airports, museums, hotels, and performing arts centers.

As an integrated member of the firm's professional design staff, the Interior Design Leader will work collaboratively with firm principals, architectural designers, consultants, and other team members, with the goal of developing projects that achieve distinctiveness and recognition for the firm and its clients.

The Interior Design Leader will take responsibility for design of specific projects and leadership of interior design, and in addition, the Interior Design Leader will be responsible for development of the interior design capabilities and talent within the firm.

The position requires a bachelor's degree (or higher) in architecture (preferred) or interior design. In addition, it requires at least 5 years of interior architecture experience, including experience in design and management of clients, teams, and the design process for corporate, government, and private-sector projects.

Candidates should be versatile, self-motivated, articulate, and experienced in working successfully with others. In addition, candidates must have excellent communications skills; foreign language skills (fluency or proficiency) are particularly advantageous.

In order to be considered for employment, all candidates must show proof of US citizenship or authorization to work in the United States and travel outside the USA.

Desired Qualifications:
  1. A portfolio demonstrating completed, relevant projects for which the candidate was directly responsible for initiation and development of design. Relevant project types include architectural and interior design projects with innovative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing design solutions.
  2. Experience providing design leadership to project teams on interior architecture projects.
  3. Proven track record of success in working with corporate, government, and private-sector clients, including development of client relationships that lead to successful projects.
  4. Experience working with other principals and firm leaders to assemble the appropriate talent resources and define performance goals and objectives to meet professional obligations.
